The First Lady on Friday hosted the Ambassador of China to Kenya, Zhou Pingjian, in State House, Nairobi.

While underscoring the excellent relationship between Kenya and China, the two leaders explored areas of cooperation with mutual benefits. In particular, the work on Climate Change and global efforts that seek to lessen its impact on the most vulnerable members of society.

The First Lady explained the Mama Organization projects that have empowered many rural women and welcomed the Government of the People's Republic of China to join where possible. She particularly pointed out the need for mobility for women and the need for green technology on the same.

"The women we work with would do well with motorized bicycles and three-wheelers to move from one point to another with the goods," said Rachel.

Ambassador Pingjian promised to mobilize resources towards the First Lady's projects among the business people in China and the private sector.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms. Chen Zhiwen, director of the political section, and Mr. LI Jie, third secretary of the political section.
