Former State House Comptroller and Ambassador to the Netherlands Lawrence Lenayapa is dead.
Lenayapa died on Thursday morning following a short illness.
Lenayapa was appointed comptroller by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013.
He served until 2018, when he was deployed as ambassador to the Netherlands.
He was also previously the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources.
President William Ruto mourned Lenayapa as a public servant.
“My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ambassador Lawrence Lenayapa who has passed away. The country has lost a dedicated public servant. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and their loved ones at this time,” said Ruto.
