Four students were rounded up in a room within Kisumu Day Secondary School, Kenya’s Lake City, smoking bhang.
The students were arrested on Monday, November 13, and released on cash bail to allow them to sit for the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
According to the police, the four were released following a meeting between their parents, the school management and the police.
They will be arraigned in court upon the completion of the national examinations, which culminate on November 24.
The students will be charged with possession of bhang, which is prohibited in the country.
They will also face charges of forcefully breaking into a room where they were found smoking the substance.
Police reported that the students used master keys to access the room.
