The first-ever Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Scientific Conference 2022 in Kenya is currently held at the Kenya School of Government, Kabete, outskirts of Nairobi.

The event themed "Tackling Gender-Based Violence During Adversity; Beyond Timely Reaction" is organized by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Public Service, Gender, Senior Citizens Affairs and Special Programmes.

This forum is intended to provide a platform to reinforce a multi-sectoral and client-centred response to SGBV.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Hilary Mutyambai, is represented at the event by Madam Jostine M. Barmao, Gender Office National Police Service (NPS).

"It is heartrending to hear the accounts of survivors and the ordeals they have gone through in pursuit of justice.

The NPS, through POLICARE, is committed to fast-tracking the process through the one-stop centre that brings together medical practitioners, legal and counselling services," said the NPS.
