Keny’a Gor Mahia head coach Jonathan Mckinstry has been named the coach of the week.
The announcement was made by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League via its social media pages.
Mckinstry led his team to a 4-1 victory against Nairobi City Stars in a Premier League encounter on Sunday, September 17.
The 20-time Kenyan champions seized the lead through Benson Omalla, who completed a brace in the 29th minute with a header.
Rooney Onyango then extended Gor’s advantage just before halftime.
Dennis Oalo of City Star pulled one back in the 64th minute, but Austin Odhiambo swiftly restored Gor’s three-goal lead.
The Northern Irish beat off Posta Rangers’ John Kamau, Kariobangi Sharks’ William Muluya, and Kakamega Homeboyz’ Patrick Odhiambo to win the honour.
Additionally, Gor Mahia’s defender Rooney Onyango was voted the player of the week.
He defeated Geoffrey Onyango of Kariobangi Sharks and Peter Thiong’o of Posta Rangers.
Gor Mahia was also voted the club of the week ahead of Posta Rangers, Kakamega Homeboyz and Kariobangi Sharks.
