Grisly road accident kills five in Nyamira

Five people have been confirmed dead after a 14-seater taxi involved in a horrible accident along Kisii-Nyamira Highway in south-western Kenya.

Nyamira County Commissioner Michael Lesmam said the vehicle’s driver lost control and hit a stationary lorry.

Five other passengers were injured in the accident, out of which three are in critical condition. They are receiving medication.

The deceased's bodies were sent to the morgue.

Lesmam has urged motorists to use caution on the road in order to assist reduce the rising incidence of traffic accidents.
