An armed attack on a village in Yamicha, Isiolo County, north of Capital Nairobi, led to the death of two people on Wednesday.
The deceased was shot by the robbers who made away with an unknown number of cattle.
The incident occurred when the victims were sleeping, and other villagers took cover.
The event occurred just a week after 12 people were slain at a village in Marsabit county’s Isiolo neighbourhood.
The counties of Marsabit and Isiolo have been engulfed in a conflict that has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people.
According to the police, the conflict is politically instigated, and the latest incident came when Kenya is preparing for the August 2022 general elections.
Following the latest attack, multi-agency security teams have been dispatched in the area to avert any attempt of retaliation.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
