Headteacher Commits Suicide In Kenya

In Mwingi Central, Eastern Kenya, a primary school headteacher has committed suicide by hanging himself in his office.

The deceased, Kioko Mutie, of Yanyonge Primary School, took away his life on Monday, June 21, under mysterious conditions.

The motive behind killing himself is yet to be established.

The authority in the area confirmed that the 46-year-old did not exhibit any sign of depression.

Mr. Kioko death has left his fellow teachers and pupils in utter shock.

“He always arrived in school early to begin teaching and correlated well with teachers,” reiterated one of the teachers.

This comes a week after a post-graduate medical student at the University of Nairobi took her own life after she injected herself with anaesthesia inducing medicine while inside her car.

Dr Lydia Wahura Kanyoro, 35, took away her life at the Kenyatta National Hospital parking lot. She was reported to be depressed.
