Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Susan Nakhumicha hosted a group of elected leaders from the Nyanza region to discuss critical health-related issues on Wednesday.
During the courtesy call, the leaders discussed equipping health facilities, providing technical and personnel support, and delivering quality healthcare to locals.
Cabinet Secretary for ICT, Eliud Owalo, led the group and reaffirmed their commitment to the government’s health agenda.
Dr. Nakhumicha urged the legislators to use their positions in Parliament to advocate for favourable laws that would enhance healthcare in Kenya.
Additionally, the Cabinet Secretary implored the leaders to encourage their constituents to enrol in NHIF to access healthcare without financial concerns.
“The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of ICT are partnering to leverage technology and offer quality healthcare to rural areas,” said CS Nakhumicha.
Present during the meeting were Acting Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth and CEO of KMTC Dr. Kelly Oluoch. It’s inspiring to see leaders come together and prioritize health matters. Let’s all work together to improve the health sector in Kenya!
