The INTERPOL Police Chief Stephen Kavanagh has begun his official visit to Nairobi, Kenya.
Kavanagh arrived in the East African nation on Wednesday and is expected to meet various officials during the visit.
On Thursday morning, he met with the Inspector General Police Service of Kenya, Japhet Koome.

During the meeting, Kavanagh expressed his gratitude to Kenya’s National Police Service (NPS) for sustaining its strategic support to INTERPOL through the secondment of Police Officers, INTERPOL Projects, Joint Regional Operations, and Police Databases.
Through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kenya became the first Country within the Eastern Africa Region to be connected to the INTERPOL International Child Sexual Exploitation (ICSE) Database.
This strategy has ensured that NPS conducts a quality investigation of Crimes against Children, especially Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
On his part, Koome reiterated the commitment of NPS to continue collaborating and cooperating with INTERPOL in the fight against crime.
Kavanagh is also expected to meet the DCI boss, Mohamed Amin, before
touring INTERPOL NCB and INTERPOL RB, both within DCI Headquarters in Nairobi.
The visit comes timely as INTERPOL marks its Centenary this year.
