President of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), Maj Gen Dr. Ahmed Naser AL-RAISI, on Monday, held a meeting with Kenya's Inspector General National Police Service, Mr. Japhet Koome, in Nairobi.
During the meeting, Gen. Dr. AL-RAISI applauded NPS for embracing technology in the fight against crime and urged the agency to expand and maximize on information sharing and utilization of the INTERPOL Crime Database.
IG Koome, on the other hand, thanked him for his visit and assured him of his commitment to continued cooperation between NPS and the International Law Enforcement Agency.
The INTERPOL delegation also included the Vice President INTERPOL (Africa), Mr. Garba Baba UMAR (Nigeria), and INTERPOL Executive Committee Delegates Anne-Marie NAINDA (Namibia) and Mr. Alas RAGAB (Egypt).
"Also present were DIG-KPS, Mr. Edward Mbugua, DIG-APS, Mr. Noor Gabow, DCI Mr. Mohamed Amin, Commandant GSU Mr. Douglas Kanja, SAIG, and the Head of INTERPOL National Central Bureau (INTERPOL NCB) Nairobi, Mr. Saiya Baraza, AIG among other senior police officers," said National Police Service (NPS).
INTERPOL has 195 Member Countries, and Kenya hosts both INTERPOL NCB and Regional Bureau for Eastern Africa Region.
