KDF Participates In The 19th Edition Of The Standard Chartered Marathon

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), led by the Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi, on October 30, 2022, participated in the 19th edition of the Standard Chartered Marathon held at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.

The marathon dubbed ‘Run as One’ saw over 20000 participants drawn from all walks of life take part in the marathon.

This year’s marathon incorporated different race categories, namely; men’s and women’s 42Km race (full marathon), men’s and women’s 21Km race (half marathon), 21Km wheelchair race, men’s and women’s 10Km race, Corporate race, and the 5Km family fun run.

The race saw elite runners Elias Kemboi Chelimo finish first in the men’s 42Km race, Sheila Chepkoech finished first in the Women’s 42Km race, Daniel Ebenyo finished first in the men’s 21Km race, and Evelyn Chirchir won the women’s 21Km race.

KDF led the corporate relay category to emerge at position one.

The CDF flagged off the 42Km race, later took part in the 10Km race, and crossed the finish line with vigour.
