A military chopper belonging to the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) crashed on Monday night in Lamu, the coastal part of the country.
In a statement, KDF said the Huey Helicopter crashed during a night patrol.
“The crew and other military personnel onboard were part of an air surveillance squadron intensifying day and night patrols and surveillance for the ongoing Operation Amani Boni,” stated KDF.
KDF has sent their condolences to the families of the crew who perished in the crash.
Meanwhile, a board of inquiry has been sent to the scene to establish what might have caused the accident.
This is Kenya’s second crash this year. On July 20, another Kenya Defence Forces chopper crashed, but nobody lost his life.
