Kenya Airways Plane Makes Emergency Landing After Passenger Becomes Sick

A Kenya Airways (KQ) plane on its way to London was forced to make an emergency landing on Monday, October 9, after a passenger fell sick.

In a statement, the airline said the incident happened at 1419 hours at KQ100, destined for London Heathrow.

“Kenya Airways PLC (KQ) confirms that on Monday, October 9 2023, at around 14:19 hrs KQ100 operating from Nairobi to London Heathrow, declared a medical emergency after a passenger was taken ill,” the statement reads in parts.

Kenya Airways said that the personnel on board, supported by two medical experts and a nurse, responded immediately and gave medical help to the passenger impacted.

KQ said that the plane landed safely and that paramedics who had already arrived took control of the situation and sent the passenger to a neighbouring medical institution for additional medical assistance.
