Kenya Defence Force shines in cross-country championship
Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) athletes emerged best overall in senior cross country and mixed relay categories at the Athletics Kenya/Lotto National Championship held last Saturday, 22nd January 2022 at Kapseret in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya’s Rift Valley.
Senior Private Joyce Chepkemoi from Laikipia Air Base took the first position in 10km senior women race clocking 34:00:0 minutes followed by Margaret Chelimo of National Police Service with 34.01.8 minutes.
In the category results, KDF took second position in mixed relays and third positions in 10km senior men and senior women races.
According to the KDF, a competition was used to select participants who will represent the country in the World Cross Country Championships slated for Saturday, 12th February 2022 at Kapseret in Uasin Gishu County.
