Kenya Pushes For Agricultural And Industrial Production Cooperation With Algerian Companies
Kenya and Algeria will explore possible ways of partnership in Agricultural Technology and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
Speaker of the Kenyan National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula, who paid a courtesy call to the Wali, a level of a Governor in the Kenyan leadership system, has lauded the Algeria Government for advanced technology in Agriculture and value-added Agricultural produce in the country.
The Speaker underpinned the common advantages of the two countries, noting that Kenya and Algeria have a shared history and common natural resources, such as natural water bodies, that should be tapped for growth and economic development.
Speaking during an exhibition tour displaying a vast range of Agricultural produce, Speaker Wetang'ula congratulated manufacturers, traders and the business community for their innovations and dedication to producing high-quality products.
"I am very impressed with the level of innovations and creativity displayed here in Algeria. I am happy that are you are well equipped to conduct the process of food production right from farming to processing of food products", said Wetang'ula.
He acknowledged that Kenya and Algeria needed to explore possible ways of collaboration in Agriculture, manufacturing plants, and irrigation technology.
"My country Kenya is working in boosting her food production ability through farming by irrigation, technological innovation, sharing of ideas like this ones here today towards being a food secure nation", added Speaker.
While touring the Agricultural plantation in the Wilaya of Wali in Blida, Algiers, Mr. Ahmed Maaded told Speaker Wetang'ula that the Wilaya of Blida is famously known for high agricultural production and industrial processing of products.
Mr. Maaded, who guided Speaker Wetang'ula in visiting various production companies and an Agricultural farm in the area, welcomed the Kenyan delegation and committed to supporting the Kenya-Algeria partnership for the progressive development of the African continent.
" I am happy to receive you in Blida, I encourage you to tour the region, exchange ideas, and explore possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the sector of Agriculture, Industrial production and trade", said Mr. Maaded.
Mr. Maaded said that Africa is well endowed with natural resources, which will sustain the continent without much struggle when put to good use.
The tour conducted included; the Venus Plant dealing with the production of beauty products; the Vitro Plant, for producing insecticides fruit trees; the Expesimed Company – for diabetic treatment; the first in Africa and uses new technology to produce high-level of diabetic treatment, Daim Grin company producing animal feeds and Agrodiv which specializes in the manufacturing of Pasta.
The two leaders exchanged traditional and historical attires as a show of unity and friendship in cementing the partnership mission.
