Kenya Receives 4.6 Million Covid-19 Doses From Germany And Argentina

On Monday night, the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination in Kenya received a boost after the country received 4.6 million doses from Germany and Argentina.

The consignment included a donation of 4.3 million J&J vaccine doses from the German government via the COVAX facility and an additional 400,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses from Argentina.

The latest batch brings the total number of vaccines in the East African country to more than 20 million.

As of December 6, 2021, a total of 7583134 doses had been administered, out of which 4628299 and 2954835 are first and second doses, respectively.

10.8 per cent of adults are fully vaccinated.

So far, Kenya has recorded 255 467 Covid-19 cases and 5335 fatalities.

246444 people have also recovered.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutuhi Kagwe has called on Kenyans who are yet to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to do so as the government ramps up vaccination efforts.
