Kenya Women’s netball team secured a 52-36 victory over Eswatini in their last group match at the ongoing 2023 World Cup qualifiers in Pretoria, South Africa.
The match was called off with four minutes and 50 seconds remaining due to a power outage that resulted in poor lighting.
Kenya was then declared the winner per competition rules, which state that the team leading by 15 or more goals is awarded the victory if play cannot continue due to technicalities in the match’s final five minutes.
The East African nation lost 47-30 to Zambia in their first group B match on Sunday before falling 72-31 to Malawi on Tuesday.
Kenya will now play in the classification matches for positions five to nine.
