The number of victims of a starvation cult in Kenya’s Shakahola forest has hit 284 after detectives exhumed 10 more bodies on Monday.
The bodies were discovered during the ongoing third phase of exhumation that kicked off last week.
At the same time, no one was rescued, meaning the number of rescues still stands at 95, with 19 already being united with their families.
According to the local authority, DNA samples have been taken from 93 relatives looking for their missing loved ones.
The region police boss Rhoda Onyancha said that only 35 suspects have been arrested, and 613 people are still missing.
The victims are followers of pastor Paul Mackenzie who brainwashed them to starve to death to see Jesus.
