Kenya To Deepen Cooperation With The Global Center On Adaptation
Kenya's Environment and Climate Change Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya on Monday met the Global Center on Adaptation CEO Prof. Patrick Verkooijen.
Tuya and Verkooijen discussed strategies to deepen cooperation between Kenya and the GCA on climate change matters.
GCA currently has its Africa office in Abidjan, where its programmes and projects for Africa are coordinated.
The meeting also attended by the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Environment and Climate Change Eng. Festus Ngeno discussed partnerships that would lead to the success of the planned African Climate Change Summit to be hosted by Kenya within the next few months.
The Summit is expected to bring together Heads of State and Government, Heads of key International and global financial institutions, among others, to discuss and set the priorities for Africa ahead of the UNFCCC (COP28) to be held in the UAE.
