Kenya to roll out Green Digital Service Delivery

Kenya has embraced the Green Digital Service Delivery in the Environmental sector, the Environment and Forestry Principal Secretary Dr. Chris Kiptoo has said.

Dr. Kiptoo said that the Ministry through assistance from the Danish Government is rolling out the Green Growth and Employment Program, among other digital initiatives.

He made the remarks during a side event of the 5.2 meeting dubbed " Digital Service Delivery". hosted by H.E Leah Wermelin, the visiting Danish Minister for Environment.

The side events was also attended by the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Information Communications Technology, Innovations and Youth Ms. Maureen Mbaka who said that the Government come up with the Digital Economy Blue Print that will ensure Government services e.g, e-payments and e-citizen services are executed.

The PS also held another side event hosted by the Swedish Minister for Climate and Environment Ms. Anikka Strandhall and her host the Swedish Ambassador to Kenya Amb. Caroline Vicini.

He thanked Sweden for its commitment to ensuring that the discussions in Stockholm are all - inclusive and multi-stakehoder oriented.

He said that Kenya reaffirms her commitment and as a co-host and as a leader in the Environmental agenda to ensuring the success of Stockholm +50.

He was accompanied by the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) Director General Mr Mamo B. Mamo.
