Kenya To Roll-Out Oral Cholera Vaccination

Text Size:

The Kenyan government will conduct an oral cholera vaccination from August 3 to 12, 2023.

The exercise is collaboration work between the Ministry of Health and County, WHO, UNICEF, and other partners.

The initiative intends to reach 1.5 million people over the age of one in six selected counties.

The counties include Nairobi, Wajir, Mandera, Machakos, Homa Bay, Marsabit and Garissa.

To ensure that the vaccination campaign is carried out effectively, the Ministry held training sessions for county and sub-county teams in the targeted areas on Tuesday ahead of the exercise.

Community members, parents, and caregivers are highly encouraged to take advantage of this potentially life-saving opportunity and be vaccinated and ensure their children receive the vaccination.
