Police recovered An AK47 rifle and a spent cartridge recovered at the murder scene.
The officer will be arraigned in court and charged with murder.
The incident comes barely three weeks after Simon Mwongela, Directorate of Criminal Investigation officer, shot dead a night guard in Nairobi’s Embakasi.
Mwongola and the guard engaged in a quarrel that led to a shooting.
The fight began when Mwongela reportedly visited the premises and demanded the gate be opened for him to get room to sleep.
After being denied entry, he shot the guard in the chest, killing him on the spot.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
