Kenya’s Inspector of General Police, Japhet Koome, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, said disciplinary action will be taken against a police officer over a terror attack alert.
In a statement, Koome said the officer based at Makadara Police Station, Nairobi, has no authority to issue such notice.
“In tandem with the communication procedure within the National Police Service, we wish to clarify that the letter has neither originated from the Office of the Inspector General, nor has the undersigned officer received any instructions In accordance with the chain of command, to author or disseminate the letter. As a deterrence measure, administrative action has been taken against the concerned officer,” read part of the statement.
