Kenyan house help jailed for life over employer son’s defilement

A court in Mombasa, Kenya, has sentenced a housekeeper to life in prison for filming her employer's child and posting the video online.

Edda Wakesho "was claimed to have purposely and unlawfully induced the private parts of a child aged 4 years to penetrate her private parts."

The incident happened between June and October 2021 in the Kiembeni area of Mombasa County's Kisauni Constituency.

The 21-year-old woman is tied to a child pornography ring that encourages rogue house helps to abuse children and post footage of them doing so online.

She told the court that she had innocently accepted a Facebook invitation from a person who had connected her to a platform where people trade nude images and videos in exchange for money.

She pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to life in prison plus ten years for child pornography.
