Nairobi-based lawyer Ambrose Rachier on Sunday, October 2, 2022, disclosed that he is a member of Freemasonry.
Speaking during an interview on the local media, the Gor Mahi FC chairman revealed that he has been a member of the secret group since 1994, noting that it is good. He said that anybody who has been part of freemason cannot hesitate to join the group whose members are only men.
“It is a member’s organization in which someone who knows you very well invites you to join. Our main objective is to engage in charity to help humanity,” said Rachier.
Rachier dispelled rumours that associate the group with satanism and devil worshipping.
"We have Muslims in freemasonry, Christians, Buddhists, and a few atheists, so there is no reference whatsoever to issues of devil worship, whoever the devil is," reiterated Rachier.
"I think it is all about ignorance. If you get to the masonic hall, the first thing you get is a citation of King Solomon to God saying: "I shall build you a house, and you shall establish your throne forever," he added.
He further divulged that the most influential people in Kenya, including some members of the Judiciary, are members of the organization.
