Police are probing the murder of LGBTQI activist Edwin Chiloba whose body was found stashed inside a metallic box in Eldoret, Kenya's Rift Valley, on Wednesday.

The body was discovered by motorcycle operators along Kipenyo- Kaptinga Road. A preliminary report indicates a numberless vehicle was seen dropping the metal box in the area.

Police officers who were manning a nearby roadblock were informed of the incident. They left their station and sped over to the scene.

When the box was opened, a man's corpse wearing a woman's clothing was discovered inside.

Chiloba's body was transferred to the morgue pending an autopsy to establish what might have caused his death.
