Many people's tongues are wagging after a man in Muguga, Kiambu County, central Kenya, took on three attackers who had attacked him head-on, murdering one.
In a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the thugs led by Evans Atuya, 35, attacked Godwin Wanyama at his house in Muguga, Kabete sub-county.
The three had stormed into Wanyama’s house on Sunday at 2 am by knocking his door to the ground using a huge rock, rudely awakening him from his slumber.
A scuffle immediately ensued as the thugs tried to subdue their victim. But a tactful Wanyama went straight for Atuya’s hand and dispossessed him of the knife he was carrying.
Wanyama furiously went for the suspect’s neck and stabbed him as his accomplices took flight!
The suspect only managed a few steps from Wanyama’s house before he fell and succumbed to the injuries caused by his weapon.
Neighbours whose sleep had been interrupted by the commotion came to Wanyama’s aid in their numbers, only to find that he had already arrested the situation.
“The officer commanding Muguga police station led a contingent of officers to the scene and confirmed that indeed Wanyama’s house had been broken into. Only door hinges and a few nails were still hanging loosely on the door frame, as a testament that there once stood a door to Wanyama’s house,” said DCI.
Meanwhile, crime scene detectives combed the scene and left with sufficient clues on the identity of the other suspects, whose arrest is nigh©Standard Gazette, 2021.
