A Kenyan man escaped death by a whisker from an irate mob who were baying for his blood after he stabbed and injured his two children.

Ken Mburu, a resident of Nyahururu in central Kenya, stabbed his two daughters several times with a knife following a quarrel with his wife.

“He had come home with a dog the previous night and demanded I cater for the construction of its kennel, but I refused. I left my children playing in the compound only for me to return home and find a multitude gathering there,” said the suspect’s wife, Martha Nyambura.

The local authority reported that the two children were rescued by neighbours who heard them wailing and responded to their call.

“I was attracted by screams from the children when I arrived at the home, I found the gate locked from the inside and decided to jump over the fence,” narrated one of the neighbours.

After committing the heinous act, Mr. Mburu stabbed himself in the stomach and chest before fleeing the scene when neighbours threatened to lynch him.

The victims are fighting for their lives in a local hospital. Their dad is also being treated in the same facility.

He will later be arraigned in court and charged with attempted murder.
