Kenyan Officers Attend Drug Investigations Training

A section of officers from the Kenya Coast Guard and the Anti-Narcotics Unit are pursuing a drug investigation course.

The one-week training was officially opened by the Director of the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, John Onyango, on Monday in Nairobi.

It is tailored to enhance and provide specialized investigative techniques for advanced drug investigators.

While addressing the course participants, Mr Onyango acknowledged the importance of the training in improving the skills and competencies of the participants in dealing with narcotics cases.

He represented the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mr Mohamed Amin.

Further, he urged the officers to take the training seriously, adding that every effort to fight drug abuse and trafficking will save future generations.

Mr Onyango also thanked the UNODC Nairobi Regional Office for being at the forefront in supporting the Directorate in the fight against transnational organized crimes through developing the human resource capacity of our officers to deal with crime.
