Detectives are in hot pursuit of a clergyman who reportedly raped a school-going teenager in Kilungu, Makueni county, southeastern Kenya, on October 19, 2021.
The report stated that Rev. Daniel Kimeu, a cleric at A.I.C kalebwani church in Kilungu, offered a ride to the 18-year-old form three girl before stopping the vehicle at a secluded spot after a few kilometres and forced himself on the girl.
The victim who reported the matter to her teacher said that she was walking home from a local market when Rev Kimeu suddenly stopped his vehicle and beckoned her to get inside.
“Innocently, the girl boarded the vehicle only to be raped moments later,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
The clergyman went into hiding immediately after the incident, and detectives are hunting him down.
