Diana Chepkemoi, a Kenyan woman, reportedly stranded in Saudi Arabia, returned home on Tuesday.

Chepkemoi was received by her mother, Clara Chepkemoi, at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), accompanied by some leaders and friends.

Shortly after checking out of the arrivals terminal, Chepkemoi briefly recounted her ordeal in the Gulf country, saying her suffering began the first day she arrived at her employer.

The 24-year-old said she reported the matter to her travel agent, who ignored her complaints and gave her employer leeway to be cruel to her.

"The first time I arrived there, I had a problem with her. I reported the matter to my agent, but instead of helping me, he swept it under the rug, and from there, my boss knew he can do anything from me," she said.

She asked the government to do something about the people working in Saudi Arabia.

"People are tortured psychologically, physically, and it is not fair. It is a shame being told there is nothing you can do about it," Chepkemoi said.

Chepkemoi caught the attention of Kenyans after photos of her looking emaciated emerged on social media.
Kenyans took to social media over the weekend to call for their release.
