Kenya's Ambassador to Qatar Paddy Ahenda is dead.

The family confirmed that Ahenda died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Doha, Qatar.

He succumbed to a heat stroke.

In October 2018, President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Ahenda as the head of the High Commission in Qatar, following a rigorous vetting process in Parliament.

Prior to being appointed to Qatar, Ahenda was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Kasipul Kabondo from 2005 to 2007.
