Kenya on Friday recorded 4 Covid-19 related deaths bringing the death toll to 4965, announced the Ministry of Health.
One of the deaths was in the last 24 hours, while three are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in September 2021
At the same, 444 people contracted the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 245781.
The new cases were detected from 7511 samples analyzed between Thursday and Friday.
The new cases comprise of 242 males and 202 females aged between 3 weeks old to 80 years.
Seven hundred more patients have recovered from the virus, meaning as for now, the number of recoveries stands at 236169.
A total of 1,472 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 3,309 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
Some 119 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 86 of whom are on ventilatory support and 27 on supplemental oxygen. Six patients are under observation.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
