Kenya’s Interior Cabinet Secretary on Monday, September 11, 2023, declared a crackdown on corrupt National Government Administrative Officers – NGAOS.
Kindiki said the move aimed at addressing bribe solicitation and frustrations that have characterized the structure in the past.
He has directed all the offic ers, from the Regional Commissioners to the Assistant Chiefs, to display the Service Charter, showing the waiting ti me for every service and any applicable statutory fee.
Addressing a public baraza after the opening of the Biashara Location Chief’s office in Thika Town, Central Kenya, Kindiki said the Service Charter must be in English, Kiswahili, and where possible, translated to the local language to ensure citizens understand their rights to efficient and first-class service delivery.
Further, the CS announced that the construction of new National Government Administration Officers offices will be guided by a code as the government seeks to standardize the infrastructure and ensure uniformity of operations across the department.
