Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives in Busia, western Kenya, are pursuing a man who seriously assaulted his 32-year-old wife by chopping off her hands before escaping on a waiting motorcycle.

The appalling incident was reported on Sunday evening by the victim's elder sister, who was not aware of any wrangle existing between the couple.

“As detectives search for the cruel husband identified as Benard Ouma, the victim is being treated at the Busia County Referral Hospital,” said DCI.
