A Kenyan middle-aged man has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for the offence of murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code.
The verdict was issued by Nanyuki High Court judge Hon. Justice A.K. Ndungu.
The prosecution presented evidence that proved the case beyond any reasonable doubt.

The court was convinced that the accused had committed the offence of murder as charged.
The particulars of the offence were that on 19th May 2015, in Kimagandura Area, within Laikipia County, the accused murdered the deceased by hacking him to death.
In issuing the sentence, the court further observed that the accused showed no remorse for his actions.
It was also noted that how he killed the deceased was particularly barbaric.
Additionally, the court acknowledged the severe impact the death had on the victim’s family, particularly as the deceased had been the breadwinner.
