A Kenyan Court has sentenced a man to 40 years in prison after finding him guilty of sexually assaulting his 10-year-old daughter.
Mombasa Court Principal Magistrate Vincent Adet ruled that Johnson Idia Muyoma was guilty of incest.
Muyoma committed the offences on diverse dates between December 23, 2021, to February 2, 2022, at the Mji Wa Ng'ombe area in Jomvu Sub-county within Mombasa County, coastal part of the country.
The Court ruled that four prosecution witnesses, including the minor, who narrated her ordeal in the hands of her father, gave overwhelming and factual testimonies. The girl's mother died in 2016, and her cousin, who also testified, has been taking care of her.
The girl used to visit her father frequently, during the time, and he repeatedly defiled her.
