A 38-year-old man on Saturday, July 24, hacked his wife to death before committing suicide in Sotik, Kenya’s South Rift.
A ccording to the local authorities, the man hacked his wife with a machete following a domestic quar rel whose genesis is yet to be established. The woman succumbed to severe injuries while being rushed to a nearby hospital.
After attacking his wife, the man hanged himself on a tree and his body was retrieved on Monday morning.

A source that spoke to the Standard Gazette on anonymity said the couple had experienced domestic rows for a long and attempts by immediate relatives and authorities to reconcile them hit a snug.
The man is reported to have attempted to kill himself by taking poison on two separate occasions.
