Police have arrested a 28-year-man accused of killing his two sons in Kiharu, Murang’a County, in Central Kenya.
Evans Kang’ethe was arrested on Tuesday in the neighbouring area of Maragua by the area Chief, assisted by the public members.
He is accused of slitting the throats of his two children, aged 3 and 7, with a sharp object on Sunday, August 6, 2023.

Kang’ether committed the heinous act when the mother of the two children was away. Sources revealed that his wife had fled her home over an unknown dispute.
He is being held in police custody pending investigations.
Upon the completion of investigations, he will be arraigned in court and charged with murder.
