Manhunt launched for militants who killed six people in Lamu

Security authorities are following Al-Shabaab militants who are suspected of killing at the Widho Shopping Centre in Lamu County, on Kenya's coast, on Monday morning.

According to the authorities, the terrorist infiltrated the community and killed two people: one by shooting him in the head and another by slashing him to death with a machete.

They then proceeded to set fire to people's homes, resulting in the deaths of four people in the process.

Several homes were burnt by fire as a result of the incident.

Joseph Mwangi, a local elder, is among those who have died in the tragedy.

He was stabbed many times in the stomach, according to the police, before being beheaded.

He was killed in his own home before it was set on fire.

According to Lamu County Commissioner Samson Macharia, the invaders attacked the residents while they were sleeping in their homes.

During the attack, nothing was stolen.
