The Multi-Agency security team in Marsabit, Eastern Kenya, has held a successful security meeting with the Marsabit Interfaith council at Marsabit Township.
The forum aimed to take stock of the operation's achievements and develop a framework to ensure peace prevails before, during and beyond the upcoming General Elections.
During the meeting, the special Deputy County Commissioner coordinating the multi-agency operation, Mr. Pius Murigu, credited the operation's success to intelligence-led patrols and support from the Public.
He further called for continuous dialogue to foster peace and harmony in the county.
The Marsabit County Interfaith Council Chairman, Sheik Mohamud Nur, appreciated the multi-agency team for restoring normalcy and called for intensification of patrols to prevent the isolated incidents of stock theft that have been reported.
The Inter-faith team also implored the multi-agency team to sensitize the local Radio stations to ensure that messages likely to instigate negative ethnicity are censored to avoid conflicts.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
