The Multi-Agency security team mandated to restore peace in Marsabit, Eastern Kenya, has recovered more illegal weapons.

In another major success, the team recovered five rifles on June 16, 2022.

The five assorted high calibre Rifles were surrendered to the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Dukana Police Station by the Chief of Balessaru Location, accompanied by the Assistant Chief of Bulluk Sub-Location, Assistant Chief Sabarei Sub-Location, and Elders.

The firearms include three Carbine Rifles loaded with two rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 Rifle, and a G-3 Rifle without ammunition.

"They have been kept in safe custody awaiting further police action," said the police.

The National Police Service has lauded the administrators and encouraged them to persuade their communities to surrender all the illegal weapons to the security agencies for the sake of lasting peace in the entire Marsabit County.
