The Marsabit Multi-Agency Security team led by the County Commissioner hosted the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board under the leadership of the Chairperson, Mrs Anne Makori, who paid the security team a courtesy call at Marsabit County Headquarters, Northeastern Kenya.
The meeting explored strategies to sustain Police-Public partnership in areas that will positively impact the security and safety of residents of the entire Marsabit County. The visiting team also assessed security preparedness and accountability procedures as the country approaches the General Elections.
The Chairperson commended the team for the exemplary performance of duty, particularly in protecting life and property. She assured the officers of her steadfast support as long as they operate within the law.
During the meeting, the County Commissioner thanked the Chairperson and assured her that the security team would continue working tirelessly to ensure that peace and security are restored.
Later the regional coordinator of the IPOA Eastern region conducted several meetings with the Quick Response Unit (QRU), Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) and Anti-Stock Theft (ASTU) on how to restore public confidence in Policing operations through professionalism by observing the rule of law.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
