Multi-agency security team in Marsabit meets local administrators in ongoing disarmament sensitization

The Multi-Agency Security team in Marsabit County, northeastern Kenya, led by the County Commissioner Mr. Paul Rotich, held a meeting on Thursday, May 26, 2022, with Chiefs and Assistant-Chiefs from North Horr, Durkana, Marsabit North and Turbi-Bubisa Sub-Counties at St. Stephen ACK Hall in Marsabit Town as part of ongoing disarmament sensitization.

During the meeting, the county boss was impressed by the recoveries of illegal arms and ammunition registered within the County and commended the operation team in collaboration with the local administrators to progressively restore sustainable peace and coexistence amongst communities.

The County Commissioner clarified that the operation in Marsabit County will continue despite the elapse of the curfew until the entire County is declared to be safe.

In his remarks, the Operations Commander urged the administrators to continue sensitizing the community and encouraging them to surrender all the illegal weapons.

He further emphasized the need to continue embracing peaceful initiatives to solve conflicts and share timely information with the security agencies to weed out criminals dealing with illegal drugs and contraband goods in the County.
