A family from Mashuru Area in Kajiado, Kenya’s Rift Valley, has lost its five members after a fire burnt their house.
The Thursday night incident saw a mother, three children, and a domestic worker burnt beyond recognition.
The woman’s husband was said to be outside the house when the incident occurred.
Local authorities suspect an electric short circuit caused the fire. However, an investigation has been launched to establish its real cause.
The incident comes just a day after a police officer burnt to death inside his house in Siaya, southwestern Kenya.
Police said the inferno started in the officer’s house and spread to the adjacent houses before fighter fighters put it out.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but the police suspect the Administrative Police officer set himself on fire.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
