Nairobi is leading Africa’s business destination in 2021.
Kenya’s capital was honoured in Africa and Indian Ocean category of the 2021 World Travel Award on October 21.
Nairobi has been crowned the continent’s leading business travel destination for the third time in a row, having previously won the honour in 2019 and 2020.
It beat Accra, Cairo, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Pretoria to bag the award.
At the same time, Kenya Airways was voted the continent’s leading commercial airline.
The airline was lauded for having the greatest business class.
The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) was named the finest meetings and conference centre in 2021, and Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) was named the best in its category.
In terms of lodging, Four Points by Sheraton and Fairmont The Norfolk was rated the best airport and city hotel on the continent.
The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club was named Africa’s leading hotel for 2021, while the Port of Mombasa has been ranked first.
