Nairobi estates to go without water for 24 hours

Numerous estates in Nairobi will have no water from Thursday at 6am to Friday 6am, announced the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC).

The water supplier said that the interruption was necessitated by the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway.

"This will facilitate interconnection of the relocated new and old water pipelines on Uhuru Highway between Hale Selassie Avenue and University Way Road junctions with Uhuru Highway to enable the release of the road corridor to the Expressway Road contractor,” read part of the notice from Nairobi Water.

The states to be affected are the City Centre, Ngara, Parklands, Limuru Road, Aga Khan Hospital and the University of Nairobi Parklands School of Law would be affected.

NCWSC also announced the University of Nairobi's main campus, Coca Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and EPZ - Athi river.

Other areas include those along Mombasa Road, South B, South C and the adjacent areas.

The whole Industrial Area and areas along Jogoo Road including City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu and the surrounding estates will also not have water for 24 hours.
