Nakuru security agency trained on election preparedness

On Tuesday, security agencies within Nakuru County, Northwest of Nairobi, benefited from a sensitization and training program on election preparedness courtesy of Nakuru County Police Commander, Ms. Beatrice Kiraguri, CP.

The participants were drawn from the National Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service, Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Wildlife Service and National Youth Service.

The program was facilitated by Mr. Dominic Kisavi, CP, the Head of Elections Security Secretariat, and Dr. Charles Otieno, a Consultant at National Police Service Headquarters.

The training was aimed at equipping the officers with knowledge on various issues that include security preparedness during the electioneering period, handling election offences, tackling Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in relation to elections, dealing with civil unrest and fostering Community Policing, among others.

The National Police Service assures the public that it will continuously provide a safe and secure environment throughout the electioneering period.
Kenya will hold its elections on August 9, 2022.
