National Assembly's Annual Staff Sports Day To Be Held On November 4

Kenya's National Assembly is set to hold its Annual Staff Sports Day on Friday, November 4, the Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Serah Kioko, has announced.

The annual event, scheduled to take place at the Absa Sports Club in Ruaraka, Northwest of Nairobi, is an important part of the House calendar of events, planned to take place in the run-up to the annual East African Parliamentary Games. This year's Inter-Parliamentary games will be held in Juba, the Republic of South Sudan, later in the month.

İn her Communication to the staff, Ms. Kioko encouraged the team to attend and participate in the event, which is part of the Assembly's initiative to promote work-life balance.

"All the staff of the National Assembly are encouraged to attend and participate in the event, which offers a wide range of disciplines one can participate in," read a section of her Communication.

The disciplines featured in this year's event are athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, netball, swimming, darts, table tennis, chess, badminton, and tuğ of war.

For some of these games, participants will compete against each other in two teams, christened 'Mace' and 'Order'.

Besides being the avenue for selecting teams to participate in the Parliamentary staff games, the Sports event is geared towards enabling officers to network and socialize, to build and know and understand each other better, and to enhance communication and work relationships amongst officers.

Also, to promote collaboration and fostering innovation and creativity; enhance the celebration, team spirit, fun, and motivation; and promote general wellness of individual officers.
